Vision RCL re-opens local library with brand new gym

Residents of Redbridge were overjoyed by the re-opening of their local library this month located in the heart of Woodford Green, north of the borough. In addition to the library, residents will benefit from a brand-new gym within the complex.

Woodford Green Library, which closed during much of the pandemic, had its long-awaited re-opening on 28 September. Vision in partnership with Redbridge Council has carried out a major refurbishment with a refreshed, spacious and modern look which will enhance residents’ library experience. Families will love browsing in the brand-new children’s section with family activities such as rhyme times and arts and crafts sessions starting up again soon. Students and community groups will also benefit with a new study area and meeting space. The library has been stocked with new books, plus Hublet tablets are available to loan and users will notice improved public PC services.

In addition to the library, the complex has been upgraded with a brand-new state of the art gym. The 30-station gym comes fully equipped with high quality equipment, new changing areas and toilets. The gym has a range of cardiovascular and weight training equipment, including cable machine, free weights, treadmills, cross trainers, and cutting-edge technology – skill mill treadmills and a power plate. In honour of it’s opening, this fantastic new gym facility is running a special membership for the first 100 sign ups, offering membership at just £25 for the first three months. Membership also includes access to gyms, pools and studio classes across Vision’s facilities – Fullwell Cross, Mayfield, Loxford, South Woodford Library & Gym and Wanstead Leisure Centres.

As a result of the refurbishment, library and gym lovers will now be able to benefit from longer opening hours with the centre open seven days a week, meaning that library and gym facilities are available at a range of times to suit your lifestyle.

Vision and Redbridge Council have jointly invested over £300,000 to ensure that residents can benefit from improved library and leisure facilities in the Woodford area for many years to come.
