Celebrate the end of summer at Wanstead Festival

Residents of Redbridge, local businesses, communities and charities will come together to celebrate the end of Summer at Vision RCL’s annual Wanstead Festival on Sunday 12 September.

Wanstead Festival has been running for several years at Christchurch Green Recreation Ground and become a staple for the local community to enjoy entertainment, children’s activities, business hubs, food and drink plus lots more. The family fun day out is back after a two-year hiatus due to last year’s Covid-19 restrictions.

On the Sunday visitors can expect lots of great activities, no matter the weather come rain or shine. The main stage will feature a range of fantastic local musicians throughout the day including Two’s Company, Michael & Tabitha, Honky Tonk Feet and many more. Children can keep busy with an art trail and craft hubs while adults can enjoy sport sessions, creative workshops and the bar and entertainment.

Visitors are always encouraged to walk, cycle, or take public transport to get to the event, and this year is no different – as a bonus the high street will be closed to traffic during the event. Visitors can stroll freely along the high street and have the opportunity to receive information on current green initiatives, enquire about cycling initiatives and benefit from free bike checks with Dr Bike. The festival will take place from 11am to 6pm, entry is free so visitors can just turn up on the day.
