Celebration of Resilience at Bramley Baths

On the 25th of July 2021, we were lucky enough to be able to open our doors to celebrate not only the history and heritage of our Grade 2 listed building, but also appreciate our resilience as a community led enterprise after what has been such a challenging year for so many.

The event celebrated the opening of our brand new exhibition, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The exhibition is compiled of 20 permanent panels now featured around our poolside balcony. Each panel details a unique part of our 117-year history – from war time dances to infamous managers, from artefacts to the people who lived here.

The event catered for over 80 guests and offered performances from synchronised swimming group, the Bramley Mermaids and female vocalist Jessica Irving. The event also hosted interactive work shops run by local history groups and dedicated supporters of the Baths, which also featured never before seen objects from the archives here at the Baths.

Our CEO, David Wilford, had this to say about the success of the day: The open day for local people was a great success! The people of the community were impressed by the amount of work we had done in lock down #morethanapool
