The Pelican Centre is a registered charity and is run by a dedicated team of permanent staff and volunteers. The Pelican Centre opened in 2012 taking over Tyldesley Pool which was facing closure.

The facilities offered include a swimming pool, well equipped gym and community hall and are open to all members of the public.
